Vulture Culture

  • The Lammergier, sometimes known as the Bearded Vulture smashes bones onto rocks by dropping them from a great height to get to the bone marrow inside.

  • The largest and most magnificent of Nepal's Vultures, the Lammergier is very elusive and will rarely appear alongside your glider unlike the popular and very gregarious Eurasian Griffon Vulture who can often be seen riding your leading edge.

  • The relatively small very a agile Egyptian Vulture are great for marking out those low saves.

Nepal Paragliding Championships 2006

19th January - 23rd January

Following the success of the past 6 years, this season’s comp will be held over 5 days from Jan 19-23 in Pokhara, the home of paragliding in the Kingdom of Nepal.

We are pleased to announce that we will be flying for a cause close to most paraglider’s hearts. The extinction of 3 of our magnificent vulture species. The Nepal Open will be in aid of Vulture Rescue, a program dedicated to saving these magnificent birds.

We have teamed up with the worlds leading organisations in this field to highlight this extremely worthwhile cause with the aim of providing one of the most fun, safe and relaxed competitions in the world.
